Saracens Stars on World Book Day

Pupils across our schools enjoyed a spectacular World Book Day this year with author visits, library scavenger hunts and lots of costumes!

The celebrations were made even more special with visits from Saracens rugby stars. At Saracens Bell Lane in Hendon, Louie Johnson joined the children for a special storytime. After sharing some of his favourite childhood reading memories, Louie headed to the playground for a kickabout and races with the pupils.

Meanwhile, at Saracens Broadfields in Edgware, Alec Clarey spent the morning visiting classrooms. He listened to the children read and chatted with them about their favourite books. Alec was very impressed by the pupils’ reading skills and their great enthusiasm for stories.

Pupils and staff at all of the schools are looking forward to watching Saracens men and women play in The Showdown match at the start of the Easter holidays. The family-friendly day will be made even more special as the professional athletes will be wearing kits designed by pupils from Saracens High School in collaboration with Castore.
